Description

Dental microwear analysis provides valuable insights into the feeding ecology and dietary adaptations of sauropod dinosaurs. Microscopic wear features preserved on tooth surfaces can reflect interactions between teeth and ingested food, as well as the physical properties of dietary items. The dataset presented here contains was obtained from Nemegtosaurus mongoliensis and sauropods studied by Winkler et al. 2025 (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41559-025-02794-5), documenting dental microwear patterns and related measurements. These data complement the study of sauropod feeding ecology and provide a basis for comparisons of dental wear among taxa and dietary strategies.
