The initial data that support the findings of the study of "Lake Urmia Restoration Success Story: A Natural Trend or a Planned Remedy?" including long-period (1992-2020) in situ observation of monthly water level of Lake Urmia located in the northwest of Iran; spaceborne data of water level, water extend the area, and precipitation over the associated basin for the four lakes/reservoirs Urmia, Mosul (Iraq), Tharthar (Iraq), and Van (Turkey).
