Description

COVID Effluvium. Illustrative cases: A. Decreased hair density, in a patient with previous low density from androgenetic alopecia. Trichoscopy: empty follicles and hair shaft variability. B. Decreased hair density. Histopathology (transverse section) showed normal follicular count, increased density of telogen hair follicles (red arrows), catagens, and follicles with absent inner root sheaths (yellow arrows). Hematoxylin-Eosin, original magnification x40.
