Description

This repository contains the processed datasets, Python notebooks, figure source data, and software requirements used to reproduce the analyses presented in the manuscript "Climate Forcing and Engineering Design Controls on Household Rainwater Harvesting System Reliability in Peri urban Dar es Salaam, Tanzania". The repository includes processed CSV outputs, manuscript figures, supplementary figures, Jupyter notebooks implementing the analysis workflow, and a requirements file describing the Python environment. Raw CHIRPS observations and CORDEX Africa regional climate model datasets are not redistributed because they are subject to third party licensing restrictions. Their sources and preprocessing procedures are documented in the accompanying manuscript and repository documentation.

Steps to reproduce

This repository contains the processed datasets, Python notebooks, figure source data, and software requirements needed to reproduce the analyses presented in the manuscript. Download the complete repository. Create a Python environment compatible with the packages listed in requirements.txt. Install the required packages using: pip install -r requirements.txt Open Reproducibility_workflow_1.ipynb and execute all cells sequentially to reproduce the rainfall preprocessing, threshold diagnostics, Peak Over Threshold analysis, Generalized Pareto Distribution fitting, seasonal return level estimation, climate model evaluation, and associated figures. Open Reproducibility_workflow_2.ipynb and execute all cells sequentially to reproduce the rainwater harvesting system simulations, historical and future performance analyses, engineering sensitivity analysis, bootstrap uncertainty analysis, variance partitioning, and the remaining manuscript figures and tables. All generated outputs should match the processed CSV files and figures included in this repository.
