Description

This dataset contains phantom acquisition parameters and modulation transfer function (MTF) measurements used to evaluate the effect of focal spot size and image reconstruction settings on high-contrast spatial resolution in computed tomography (CT). Data were acquired using GE and Catphan phantoms scanned under multiple imaging conditions, including different tube voltages, focal spot sizes, reconstruction kernels, and ASIR-V reconstruction strengths. The dataset includes CT acquisition and reconstruction parameters, phantom-based MTF measurements, and derived image quality metrics used for quantitative analysis. The data were collected as part of a phantom study investigating the impact of small and large focal spot configurations on CT spatial resolution performance. Measurements were obtained using scanner-based and phantom-based MTF assessment methods, including Catphan phantom analysis and Droege-Morin calculations. Variables are organized by phantom type, acquisition protocol, reconstruction settings, and corresponding MTF results. The dataset supports the analyses presented in the associated manuscript and may be used for replication of study findings, comparison of reconstruction techniques, and further investigation of factors affecting CT spatial resolution. No patient data are included in this dataset.
