Sedimentary Characteristics and Organic Carbon Data along the Yangtze River–Coastal Ocean Continuum (2003–2024)
Description
The supplementary datasets integrate historical riverine sediment and particulate organic carbon fluxes with spatially and temporally resolved observations along the Yangtze River–estuary/delta–East China Sea shelf continuum. Dataset 1 provides long-term records of suspended sediment flux, suspended sediment concentration, and median grain size at Datong from the 1950s to 2022. Dataset 2 compiles historical riverine POC flux estimates from the Datong and Xuliujing hydrological stations. Dataset 3 documents spatial and temporal variations in sediment properties, organic carbon characteristics, and terrestrial organic carbon contributions across the Yangtze River–estuary/delta–East China Sea shelf continuum during 2003–2024. Together, these datasets provide the historical and observational basis for evaluating changes in sediment delivery, OC transport, and burial following the closure of the Three Gorges Dam in 2003.
