Description

This study examines dimethyl sulfoxide's (DMSO) biofilm inhibitory effects, biofilm eradication effects, and the minimum inhibitory concentration on Gardnerella vaginalis at different concentrations of DMSO using two-fold serial dilutions (50% - 0.10%) in 96-well microplates. This file provides the raw data (absorbance values, OD 595) from assays run in triplicate on separate days with 8 technical replicates each. Biofilms were stained using the crystal violet method. Absorbance values from the 3 runs were averaged and the average absorbance value from the media control (negative growth control wells) was subtracted from the averages of the growth control and DMSO treatment wells. Percent inhibition was then calculated by comparing the absorbance of the DMSO treatment wells to the growth control (0% DMSO) well.
