Description

Citation source profiles for five local service verticals that generic citation lists rarely cover: med spas, home care agencies, car rental companies, tutoring centers and schools, and furniture and home decor stores. Local businesses are listed on three layers of sources: global map and place platforms shared by every vertical, national business directories, and directories that exist for one trade only. For each vertical this dataset reports how many citation sources the Citation Builder catalog maps to it, how many are free to list on, how many are global anchors versus vertical or country specific, and the domain-rating profile of the sources that carry one. A second table lists the strongest sources per vertical with cost model (free, freemium, paid) and market (global or ISO country code). Files: - vertical-source-profiles-2026.csv: one row per vertical (sources_total, free_sources, free_pct, global_anchors, vertical_or_country_sources, sources_with_dr, median_dr_of_rated, sources_dr70_plus). - vertical-top-sources-2026.csv: strongest sources per vertical (rank, source, domain_rating, cost_model, market). - citation-source-profiles-five-service-verticals-2026.pdf: report with methodology, both tables and findings. Method: catalog snapshot 2026-09-25 (1,000+ citation sites across 50+ countries), read through the same relevance-ranked query that renders the public industry pages. Domain rating is a third-party authority estimate; most sources carry none, so medians are taken over rated sources only. Key finding: med spas have the deepest source pool (81 sources, 64 beyond the global anchors), while car rental (17), tutoring (8) and furniture retail (6) have few vertical-specific sources and depend most on getting the shared global anchors right.

Steps to reproduce

1. Map each vertical to its catalog industry (med spas: health-medical; home care: nursing-childcare; car rental: taxi-car-hire; tutoring: education-tutoring; furniture and home decor: furniture-home-decor). 2. Read every active citation source mapped to that industry, global anchors included, through the relevance-ranked industry query (catalog snapshot 2026-09-25). 3. Count sources, free-to-list sources and global anchors; vertical_or_country_sources = sources_total minus global_anchors. 4. Take the domain-rating median over sources that carry a rating only, and count sources rated 70 or higher. 5. Rank the strongest sources per vertical by domain rating and record cost model and market.
