Source-wise power generation dataset of Bangladesh
Description
The dataset Bangladesh.xlsx compiles source-wise energy generation and consumption statistics for Bangladesh, drawn from official records of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the World Bank. It covers a multi-decadal period and includes key indicators on natural gas, coal, oil, hydro, renewables, and low-carbon energy, offering a structured view of the country’s evolving power mix. Developed to support empirical analysis, forecasting, and policy evaluation, this dataset provides a reliable resource for researchers and practitioners seeking to examine long-term energy trends, sustainability planning, and the transition of Bangladesh’s energy sector.

Steps to reproduce
The dataset was constructed by collecting source-wise energy generation and consumption data for Bangladesh from the International Energy Agency (IEA) and World Bank databases. Data from different years and sources were manually extracted, cross-checked for consistency, and organized into a uniform structure. Python was then used to clean, merge, and arrange the records into a single spreadsheet (Bangladesh.xlsx), ensuring chronological alignment and removal of duplicates. Researchers can reproduce the dataset by accessing the same data repositories, applying the same selection criteria, and following a similar preprocessing workflow with Python.
