Steps to reproduce

Conduct vertical electrical sounding (VES) measurements at the designated VES stations in the Girana Valley, Northern Ethiopia, using the Schlumberger electrode configuration. Expand the current-electrode spacing (AB/2) progressively while maintaining the corresponding potential-electrode spacing (MN/2) according to the field acquisition scheme. Record the apparent resistivity measurements (ρ, Ω·m) for each combination of AB/2 and MN/2 at each VES station (VESGR1–VESGR15). Compile the field measurements into a structured dataset containing VES station ID, AB/2, MN/2, and apparent resistivity. Apply appropriate quality control to the field measurements and inspect the apparent-resistivity curves for anomalous or inconsistent readings. Use the measured apparent-resistivity data as input for one-dimensional VES inversion to estimate subsurface layer resistivities and thicknesses. Integrate the VES results with the ERT measurements and geological/structural information to interpret subsurface heterogeneity and groundwater-bearing units. The supplied dataset contains the original VES field measurements used in the study and can be independently reprocessed using standard electrical-resistivity processing and inversion software.
