Two fibre types, T700s 12k carbon fibre and polypropylene twine, were tested following ASTM D4018 and ASTM D2256 standards, respectively. From these tests, extension and load data was obtained and stress and strain values calculated. From this, the modulus of toughness is calculated for both fibre types by finding the area under the curve of the stress and strain. The modulus of toughness was found to be 28 MJ/m^3 and 12MJ/m^3 for T700s 12k carbon fibre and the polypropylene twine, respectively.
