Description

This dataset contains the continuous environmental time series underlying a study of coastal environmental monitoring and its relationship with artisanal oyster farming in a community on the Brazilian Amazon coast, within the Mãe Grande de Curuçá Marine Extractive Reserve (RESEX), municipality of Curuçá, state of Pará. It comprises three types of records: In-situ hydrological monitoring (CTD) at two estuarine sites — Lauro Sodré (long-term, the primary site) and Boa Vista do Muriá (a shorter campaign used for inter-site comparison). Each CTD provides water level, water temperature, electrical conductivity, and derived practical salinity at a 10-minute interval. Meteorological monitoring from an automatic weather station at Lauro Sodré, recording air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation, wind, solar irradiance, UV index, and barometric pressure. A derived, analysis-ready hourly series combining station precipitation with the Lauro Sodré CTD variables, used for the correlation (wavelet coherence) analyses. The Lauro Sodré monitoring site is located at 0°50′48.81″ S, 47°53′04.54″ W; the weather station is approximately 1.15 km (straight line) from the oyster-farming area where the CTD is deployed. The Boa Vista do Muriá CTD site is located at 0°43′20.90″ S; 47°54′33.48″ W. Date/time fields are in local time (UTC−3).
