Description

This dataset was constructed for the analysis of intergenerational educational mobility and assortative mating patterns in Mexico, using information from the ESRU-EMOVI Nuevo León 2021 survey, published by the Centro de Estudios Espinosa Yglesias (CEEY). The database includes demographic, socioeconomic, and educational variables for individuals and their parents, allowing the study of educational attainment across generations and the transmission of educational opportunities within households. The dataset includes derived classifications of educational homogamy, hypergamy, and hypogamy, as well as indicators for analyzing patterns of social mobility and selective matching among couples. The database was processed, harmonized, and structured for econometric and social mobility analysis, facilitating the study of intergenerational dynamics in Mexico. The dataset was developed for academic and research purposes in social mobility and inequality studies.
