Description

This dataset contains complete raw and processed electron‑probe microanalysis (EPMA) major‑element spot analyses associated with the manuscript submitted to Geophysical Research Letters: "Disequilibrium partitioning of nickel, chromium, and phosphorus in natural skeletal olivine: Kinetic controls and geochemical implications". The dataset includes two categories of EPMA measurements: (1) Unknown‑sample analyses of natural skeletal‑dendritic olivine crystals, which form the core dataset supporting the main geochemical conclusions of this study; (2) Replicate measurements of standard reference materials, which are used to evaluate analytical precision and quality control. Major‑element oxide concentrations are reported in weight percent (wt.%). Each entry contains grain ID, analytical spot position, forsterite (Fo) content, and measured concentrations of Si, Mg, Fe, Ni, Cr, P, Mn, Ca and other major‑element components. These data document prominent intra‑crystal variations in Ni, Cr and P at nearly constant Mg‑content in olivine, controlled by crystal‑growth kinetics rather than post‑crystallization diffusion or magma‑source processes. All data are shared under the CC‑BY 4.0 license.
