Telegram Channel Reach 2026: median views per subscriber by channel size, 3.2M public channels
Description
Views relative to subscribers across 3,205,346 public Telegram channels, reported as the median per subscriber band, plus the size and language distribution of the catalogue. Reach is the average number of views per post divided by the subscriber count, taken per channel; the dataset gives the median of that ratio for each size band. Median reach: 31.4% on channels with 1,000 to 5,000 subscribers (7,179 channels measured), 15.8% at 5k to 20k (2,750), 9.1% at 20k to 100k (1,201), 6.0% at 100k to 500k (8,380, every channel in the band) and 3.3% above 500,000 subscribers (1,211, every channel in the band). Of the channels with a known subscriber count, 85.7% have fewer than 1,000 subscribers and roughly 7,900 pass 100,000. Russian accounts for 27.0% of sampled channels, English 12.1%, Arabic 6.0% and Persian 5.6%. Limits: Telegram's view counter includes views through forwards and web previews by non-subscribers, so reach can overstate the share of subscribers who saw a post; inflated subscriber counts pull it down. Bands below 100,000 subscribers are sample estimates. Language is detected automatically from short descriptions. Steps to reproduce
1. Start from the Pinlyx Data API catalogue of public Telegram channels: 3,205,346 channels on 11 September 2026. 2. For each channel, reach is the average number of views per post divided by the subscriber count. 3. Group channels with at least 1,000 subscribers into five size bands and take the median reach of each band. The two largest bands cover every channel in them; the three smaller bands are computed over samples of 1,201 to 7,179 channels. 4. Estimate the size and language distributions from a sample of about 15,000 channels.
