Polypyrrole-modified LFP/coal-derived rGO cathodes for enhanced charge transport

Description

LC derived GO is then reduced and functionalized with the conducting polymer polypyrrole (PPy) to produce a conductive reduced graphene oxide (rGO)/PPy network that improves interfacial charge transport. The combined effect of the addition of PPy in LFP/rGO results in not only an increase in electronic conductivity but also in the facilitation of movement of ions during lithiation processes, thereby improving the electrochemical properties. The LFP/rGO/PPy shows a better performance with a discharge capacity of 158 mAh/g with good cycling stability, retaining 96% of its capacity after 400 charge/discharge cycles at 3. 4 V.

Steps to reproduce

Phosphoric acid, iron acetate, and lithium acetate precursors were then added to the TEG/GO mixture, and it was heated for 12 hours at 220 °C in a round-bottom flask fitted with a reflux condenser. They were the allowed to cool to room temperature, washed with acetone, and dried for 12 hours at 80 °C, which led to partial reduction of the GO .
