This dataset contains the data used to evaluate spatial and seasonal variations in limnological conditions and the occurrence of visually identified potential microplastics in the Córrego do Sapo urban sub-basin, Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil. Water samples were collected from the main course and its tributaries during the rainy and dry seasons. The dataset includes physicochemical and trophic variables, as well as qualitative information on visually identified potential microplastics, including particle types and colors. The data are organized according to climatic season and sampling conditions and support the statistical analyses and results presented in the associated study.

Steps to reproduce

The dataset is organized into worksheets containing limnological and potential microplastic data obtained during the rainy and dry seasons in the Córrego do Sapo urban sub-basin, Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil. For the limnological dataset, sampling location and climatic season were considered in the statistical analyses. Physicochemical and trophic variables were evaluated using two-way ANOVA to assess spatial, seasonal, and interaction effects. Seasonal differences in the qualitative composition of visually identified potential microplastics were evaluated using PERMANOVA. The corresponding worksheets can be used to reproduce the comparisons between the rainy and dry seasons and between the main course and tributaries. No additional processing should be applied to the original data unless required by the statistical procedure adopted in the associated study.
