Description
The dataset covers ten professional sports leagues and tours over the period 2014–2023, including the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA), the English Premier League (EPL), the National Football League (NFL), the National Hockey League (NHL), the Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Professional Golfers' Association of America (PGA), the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), the Major League Soccer (MLS), and the Women's Tennis Association (WTA). The Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) data are available for the period 2018–2023. Salaries refer to athletes’ annual earnings as reported in the database for each professional league or tour. The unit of observation is the individual athlete in a given professional sport and year.
