These data were generated as part of an experiment to test the effects of temperature, time, and parasite genotype on spores of Ophryocystis elektroscirrha, a protozoan parasite of monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus). The experiment was performed at the University of Georgia, Athens, GA, USA. Details on the experiment, predictions, analyses, and conclusions are available in the publication, "Thermal tolerance and environmental persistence of a protozoan parasite in monarch butterflies" published in the Journal of Invertebrate Pathology. https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jip.2021.107544. Two files are provided, one with experimental temperature data and one with details on monarch experimental treatments and infection metrics.
