In order to have an implant material that modulates tendon healing with respect to fibrosis, tissue inhibitor of matrixmetalloprotease-1 (TIMP-1) protein has been incorporated into electrospun DegraPol® fiber meshes by emulsion electrospinning. We here present data on the characterization of such meshes, including release kinetics, static and dynamic water contact angles and FTIR spectra. In addition, the pure DegraPol® fiber mesh without TIMP-1 was characterized as control.
