Social inequalities in access to general and preventive dental care in Antioquia, Colombia, 2017–2022
Description
This supplementary dataset accompanies the manuscript “Social inequalities in access to general and preventive dental care in Antioquia, Colombia, 2017–2022.” It contains seven supplementary tables presenting detailed estimates of dental care access and social inequalities across the 125 municipalities of Antioquia during the 2017–2022 period. Tables 1S and 2S report absolute and relative inequalities in access to general and preventive dental consultations according to health insurance affiliation regime—subsidized versus contributory—and sex—women versus men—with their corresponding 95% confidence intervals. Tables 3S–5S present weighted averages of access to general and preventive dental consultations by socioeconomic quintiles. Municipalities were ranked and grouped into quintiles according to municipal category, armed conflict intensity, and multidimensional poverty. Access indicators were calculated using both the number of people affiliated with the health system and municipal population projections as denominators. Estimates are additionally disaggregated by sex and health insurance affiliation regime. Tables 6S and 7S provide measures of socioeconomic inequality in access to general and preventive dental consultations, respectively. The Relative Index of Inequality (RII) and Slope Index of Inequality (SII), with 95% confidence intervals, are reported according to municipal category, armed conflict intensity, multidimensional poverty, and unmet basic needs. Results are presented for the total population and stratified by sex, affiliation regime, denominator, and year. These supplementary data provide detailed evidence on the magnitude, direction, temporal variation, and socioeconomic distribution of inequalities in dental care access. They enable further examination of gradients that may not be fully displayed in the main manuscript and support the transparency and reproducibility of the reported analyses.
