This dataset contains all the data used to analyse the impact of the conversion of karst remnant forests into artificial green spaces on the species composition and functional gene diversity of soil microbes in Guiyang, China. It includes taxonomic and abundance data of microorganisms (bacteria, fungi and archaea), abundance and relative abundance of microbial functional genes (CARD, CAzy, eggNOG, PHI, VFDB and KEGG) in 60 samples.
