Description

This dataset contains four fictional adaptation stories developed as part of a participatory climate change adaptation study focusing on dairy production in North Karelia, Finland. The stories were co-created using stakeholder interviews, climate projections, regionalised socioeconomic scenarios and researcher-led synthesis. They explore plausible adaptation pathways for dairy farms in the 2050s under contrasting climatic and socioeconomic futures. The stories were used as discussion material in participatory workshops to support reflection on future climate risks, adaptation options and regional development pathways. The dataset also includes illustrations accompanying each story. The illustrations were used together with the stories during workshop activities to support engagement with and interpretation of alternative future pathways. Illustrations were created by Anne Stolt and are included with permission. The stories are provided in Finnish, the language in which they were developed and evaluated with stakeholders.
