Description

The Nairobi City Park (NCP) was established in 1920, originally as a zoological garden and declared a public park in 1925. It occupied an area of 91 ha but due to illegal alienations, a third of the area has been lost to land grabbers (Makworo & Mireri, 2011). The NCP is an indigenous upland semi-deciduous dry forest whose vegetation is dominated by Croton megalocarpus-Calodendrum capense, usually mixed with Markhamia lutea, Dracaena steudneri, Diospyros abyssinica, Albizia and Vepris species
