Survey Data on Product-Related Stigma and Wheelchair
Description
This dataset supports an empirical investigation into the relationship between wheelchair appearance semantics, Product-Related Stigma (PRS), emotional responses, and behavioral avoidance within a Chinese sociocultural context. The study integrates two phases: a semantic evaluation phase, where expert ratings on stigma-related dimensions were aggregated into a Stigma Strength Score (SSS) to categorize stimuli; and a naturalistic field experiment, which recorded pedestrian avoidance behaviors (Minimum Lateral Distance) and facial emotional responses to these stimuli. These data facilitate a Structural Equation Model analysis of the interplay between PRS, emotion, and avoidance, with pedestrian demographics included as covariates. All data are fully anonymized, comprising only derived numerical and categorical variables in compliance with ethical standards.
