ASD diagnosis 2024
Description
The dataset for this retrospective study was derived from the medical records of an autism center within a public hospital in Israel, specifically analyzing data from 91 children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 who were referred for comprehensive multidisciplinary ASD evaluations. Of this initial cohort, a sub-sample of 84 individuals provided full data for the final analysis, comprising a gender distribution of 73 boys and 18 girls with a mean age of 11.67 years at the time of their clinic visit. The data collection process integrated multiple sources including standardized teacher and parent questionnaires, in-depth developmental histories regarding the age of first concern, and clinical assessments conducted by experienced physicians and psychologists using tools such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) and the Social Attribution Test (SAT). Additionally, the dataset encompassed specific DSM-5 diagnostic criteria, indicators of atypical development, and information on comorbidities such as ADHD and anxiety, alongside records of pharmacological interventions and independent diagnostic opinions from the clinical team.
