Steps to reproduce

Nucleic acids from diatom culture lysates were obtained with Qiagen QIAamp MinElute Virus Kit. For nucleic acids processing see the Methods section of the original publication. Sequences were obtained on the Illumina NovaSeq sequencer using 2x150bp shotgun sequencing. Reads were assembled in metaSPAdes 3.15.5. Allignments were produced with MAFFT and TrimAl.
