Description

These data were used to analyse the effects of a wildfire that took place on the 22nd of April 2020 in nature reserve 'Landschap de Liereman' in Oud-Turnhout, Belgium, affecting approximately 30 hectares. The data was gathered using a design of 15 paired burned and intact plots (n=30) across a peatland-heathland landscape. Plot coordinates are provided in the metadata. Vegetation cover of individual plant species was recorded for three consecutive years (2020-2022). Various soil parameters (bulk density, moisture content, pH, nutrient contents) were measured in both 2020 and 2022 and base saturation, cation exchange capacity and well as the individual exchangeable cations were measured in 2022.
