The research dataset includes changes in elements, functional groups, and components of EPS under two formation pathways (adsorption vs coprecipitation) of ferrihydrite-EPS associations. This study provides new insights onto EPS behaviour at the mineral-water interface and is valuable for evaluating how microbial-derived compounds are stabilized by iron (hydr)oxides.
