Description

We measured the stable isotopic composition of carbonate in 6 CM chondrites, including carbonate clumped isotopes and 17O/16O. The triple oxygen isotopes and the clumped isotopes are measured on the same aliquot of gas to avoid issues with heterogeneity in the samples. 1) results data table, averaged for each meteorite split analysed in a given session 2) isotopic compositions of fluid in equilibrium with the carbonates 3) clumped isotope low level data: replicate of reference material and samples by analytical session 4) triple oxygen low level data: validation measurements and individual replicate data

Steps to reproduce

Carbonates in our samples were dissolved in phosphoric acid to release CO2, which was cleaned up by cryogenic techniques and gas chromatography. Abundance of isotopologues at m/z 44 to 48 was measured on a FTS 253 mass spectrometer. The leftover gas was recaptured and transfered to a TFS ULTRA high resolutiuon mass spectrometer to measure the triple oxygen isotope compositions through measurements of the O+ fragment ion beams (adapted from the method of Adnew et al 2019).
