Infant Motor Development: A Gravity-Based Developmental Framework
Description
This dataset accompanies the manuscript entitled: “Infant Motor Development: A Gravity-Based Developmental Framework.” The dataset contains study-level data extracted for a meta-analysis examining associations between infant sleep positioning and early motor development outcomes. The repository includes the primary dataset in both Excel and CSV formats, a detailed codebook describing all study variables, and a README file containing supplementary documentation. No individual participant-level data are included in this repository.

Steps to reproduce
Open the main dataset file: InfantSleepPosition_MotorDevelopment_Dataset.xlsx or the corresponding CSV version. Each row represents one independent study included in the meta-analysis examining associations between infant sleep position and motor development outcomes. Variable names, coding definitions, and study characteristics are described in: Codebook Dataset Description.docx. Effect sizes (Hedges’ g) and corresponding variances were extracted or calculated from previously published studies included in the systematic review and meta-analysis. Positive Hedges’ g values indicate superior motor performance associated with prone sleep positioning relative to supine sleep positioning. No individual participant-level data or identifiable personal information are included in this repository.
