Digital literacy pre-service teachers Poland and Italy
Description
The data shows the level of digital competence of future teachers in two European countries: Italy and Poland. The main objective of the internship research is to develop theoretical grounds and collect quantitative and qualitative material to modernize academic curricula in pre-service teacher training in the area of constructive-critical use of information and communication technologies (ICT). The research project focuses on both, learning-teaching aspect and educational aspects connected with ICT. The main objective of the project will allow to integrate, within the theory and empirical studies into teacher education, two opposite and often mutually excluding research narratives within: • opportunities paradigm (positive outcomes of intense use of ICT); • risk paradigm (threats in education mediated through the cyberspace). The research is in line with the global trend of the intense development of media pedagogy.

Steps to reproduce
Quantitative research related to: level of digital competence among pre-service teachers and in-service teachers collected in 2022 in Italy and Poland (generalisation level 0.05). The research was funded by the project Teachers of the future in the information society - between risk and opportunity paradigm PPN/BEK/2020/1/00176 funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA.
