Description

This dataset contains anonymised computed tomography (CT)-based morphometric measurements of the foramen magnum and occipital condyles obtained from 200 adult participants included in a retrospective cross-sectional study conducted in Katsina State, Nigeria. The dataset includes participant sex and cranial morphometric variables, including occipital condyle length and width, maximum basion diameter, foramen magnum length, width, index, area, circumference, and shape. These measurements were extracted from archived CT images using standard electronic measurement tools and analysed to evaluate sexual dimorphism and the usefulness of these parameters for sex determination. The dataset is fully de-identified and contains no personally identifiable information. It may be used for research, validation studies, teaching, and meta-analyses related to forensic anthropology, radiological anatomy, and craniovertebral morphometry.

Steps to reproduce

Archived cranial CT examinations of adults were retrospectively reviewed. Morphometric measurements of the foramen magnum and occipital condyles were obtained using electronic measurement tools on CT workstation software. Data were analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 26.0. The associated manuscript provides the complete study methodology, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and statistical analysis procedures.
