The bibliographic data analyzed in this study were retrieved from the SCIE database of the WoS Core Collection. The SCIE database is widely regarded as one of the most authoritative sources for bibliometric research because of its rigorous indexing standards, comprehensive bibliographic information, and extensive coverage of high-quality international scientific journals. Its standardized citation records also facilitate reliable knowledge-mapping and network analyses. The retrieval period covered publications indexed between January 2000 and May 2026, and all records were collected on 1 May 2026 to avoid potential database-update bias. To maximize retrieval completeness and ensure coverage of publications originating from different research periods and taxonomic usages, a topic search strategy was adopted using the following query: TS = (“Tuta absoluta” OR “Phthorimaea absoluta” OR “tomato leafminer” OR “South American tomato moth” OR “tomato pinworm”). The search was conducted within the topic field, including titles, abstracts, author keywords, and Keywords Plus. Document types were restricted to research articles and review papers, while conference abstracts, book chapters, patents, editorial materials, corrections, and news reports were excluded. To ensure consistency in subsequent analyses, only English-language publications were retained. The initial search yielded 1294 records. To improve dataset accuracy, a manual screening process was subsequently conducted based on titles, abstracts, and keywords. Publications that only mentioned T. absoluta incidentally, or that primarily focused on other leafminer species without taking T. absoluta as the main research subject, were excluded. After data cleaning and relevance verification, 1042 publications were retained for subsequent analysis. Full records and cited references were exported in plain-text format, including information on authors, affiliations, publication years, journals, abstracts, keywords, and reference lists, thereby providing the basis for bibliometric and visualization analyses.
