Description

Viable 46,XX/46,XY sesquizygotic chimerism in an adult born as a singleton is exceptionally rare, and its persistence raises questions about embryonic lineage survival, immune tolerance and reproductive function. Drawing on a single centre case of primary infertility, together with institutional observations from forensic identification and tripronuclear embryo culture, we discuss how dispermic fertilization followed by unequal survival of parental lineages may generate viable chimerism while leaving many same sex cases undetected.
