Description

This dataset contains the comprehensive list of 480 intersecting target genes shared between Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) and retinal cytotoxicity. The HCQ-related targets were predicted using SwissTargetPrediction, PharmMapper, and TargetNet databases. The retinal toxicity-associated genes were retrieved from DisGeNET, OMIM, and GeneCards databases. Gene names were standardized using the UniProt Knowledgebase. This dataset serves as the foundational data for the subsequent Protein-Protein Interaction (PPI) network construction and functional enrichment analysis (GO and KEGG) investigating the mechanistic basis of HCQ-induced retinal cytotoxicity.

Steps to reproduce

The chemical structure and SMILES of Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) were obtained from PubChem. HCQ-related targets were predicted using SwissTargetPrediction, PharmMapper, and TargetNet databases. Retinal toxicity-associated genes were retrieved from DisGeNET, OMIM, and GeneCards databases using the keyword "retinal toxicity". Gene symbols were standardized using the UniProt Knowledgebase. The intersection of HCQ-related targets and disease targets was extracted to generate this dataset of 480 targets.
