Q‑Brake: L6e Quadricycle Multi‑Sensor Braking‑Dynamics Dataset
Description
Q-Brake is a multi-sensor time-series dataset recorded on an L6e-category electric quadricycle prototype in Matosinhos, Portugal (September 18, 2024). The dataset comprises 25 trips totaling 38.8 km, conducted across two circuit variants. The dataset includes synchronized sensor data from: - ROS 2 vehicle-mounted sensors: IMU (180 Hz), wheel speed encoders (100 Hz), motor (32 Hz), brake pedal load cell (10 Hz), GNSS (1 Hz) - Smartphone-based system (SMC): IMU and GNSS for redundant measurements The dataset contains controlled braking trials conducted on the Extended Circuit (12 trips, 22.1 km) featuring instructed braking maneuvers ranging from light to strong intensity, and naturalistic driving on the Main Circuit (13 trips, 16.7 km) including normal driving behavior under varied tire pressure conditions. Vehicle mass ranged from 876 to 1030 kg through systematic variation of occupant configurations (1-3 passengers). The dataset is organized as follows: - raw_data/ - Original sensor recordings (CSV) - processed_data/ - Vehicle-aligned IMU, semantic labels, automated annotations - metadata/ - Sensor descriptions, variable dictionaries, and collection guidelines - documentation/ - Acquisition protocol - images/ - Circuit maps - README.md This dataset supports research in autonomous emergency braking systems, brake force estimation, sensor fusion algorithms, tire pressure monitoring effects, and electric vehicle dynamics analysis.
