This work looks for correlations between the film Mad Max: Fury Road and the state of nature conceptualized by Thomas Hobbes. Together we will criticize the lack of water in a universal sense and the consequences that can be aggravated by it. Mad Max comes from a film franchise, with Mad Max: Fury Road being the fourth film of this franchise that returns to the narrative of an apocalyptic planet without water and food essential for survival. Therefore, if the water scarcity were really so great, In humanity, would there be a war of discord between the human species? We would have This is an important reflection in our days, since the lack of water is already a fact in different places, and with the lack of sustainability, alarming levels of pollution and deforestation, this reality comes closer and closer to our eyes. This article aims to warn about the human capacity to self-destruct, mainly when a necessary good like water is scarce. Using essential lines from the film and adding the philosophy of Thomas Hobbes, especially his magnum opus “Leviathan”, We will briefly discuss the state of nature and the lack of water. In the first chapter, we will summarize the film Mad Max: Fury Road. In the second chapter, we will have a brief explanation of Thomas Hobbes' philosophy regarding state of nature concept. In the third chapter, we will make the necessary correlations of the film with Hobbesian philosophy, and we reinforce a criticism regarding the possible lack of water in humanity.
