Description

This dataset supports reproduction of the analysis of risk aversion in hydropower medium-term scheduling in centralized and liberalized power systems presented in the associated paper "Whose heads are we keeping above water? Impacts of risk aversion on hydropower medium-term scheduling" (see Related links). Input (Data folder) and output (Results folder) data for the stylized case study of the Norwegian and Swedish parts of the Nordic Power System are provided alongside two models (.jl). The first model is a central dispatch optimization model (OM) with system cost minimization, and the second is an equilibrium model (EM) with revenue-maximizing producers. For detailed description of the models and the data, please refer to Sections 4, 5, and 6 of the associated paper.

Steps to reproduce

To reproduce the model, the .zip-file is extracted into a folder. The scripts "OMmodel.jl" and "EMmodel.jl" within the folder are then run with Julia, and will produce outputs into .xlsx files. Running the script requires Julia and the packages listed in "Data/packs.jl" installed. Further instructions are provided in "README.txt". The .zip-file also contains outputs from running the model ("Results" folder).
