• Powdered milk was assessed for NORM contents and is the first study in Bangladesh. • 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K concentrations were found comparable for all age groups. • The mean annual effective doses show below ICRP ref. of 1 mSv y-1 for all ages. • Cancer risks due to ingestion of radionuclide show below ICRP ref. of 2.5 × 10-3. • Data will help to establish radiological protection guidelines on powdered milk.
