MATERIALISM, LONELINESS, AND IDENTITY-BASED ATTACHMENT TO POSSESSIONS AS CORRELATES OF COMPULSIVE BUYING TENDENCY
Description
This dataset contains anonymized questionnaire responses from 322 adults recruited in shopping centres in the Republic of Srpska. It includes sociodemographic characteristics, item-level responses, and calculated scores for materialism, loneliness, depressive symptoms, identity-based attachment to possessions, and compulsive buying tendency. The data and accompanying Python script may be used to reproduce the descriptive statistics, reliability estimates, correlations, and hierarchical regression results presented in the manuscript Materialism, Loneliness, and Identity-Based Attachment to Possessions as Correlates of Compulsive Buying Tendency. The accompanying reproduction guide describes variable coding, scale scoring, and the analytical steps. When using these data in a publication, please cite the dataset using the citation and DOI assigned by Mendeley Data. Steps to reproduce
Install NumPy, pandas and SciPy. Put the CSV and script in the same folder and run: python reproduce_results.py study_data_322.csv The script prints reliabilities and both tables. Round only for reporting. Checkpoints: final R2 = .320; last-step HC3 Wald F(2,312) = 8.63. Conventional results were checked in IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0; the Python script reproduces them and computes HC3 results.
