Description

This dataset was developed within the BiomasBR project to support climate risk assessment initiatives, including applications in the AdaptaBrasil platform. It contains climatic and socioeconomic variables associated with drought conditions and drought-related emergency decrees in municipalities in the western region of Bahia, Brazil, covering the period from 2013 to 2022. The dependent variable consists of municipal records of emergency decrees related to droughts and dry spells, obtained from the Digital Atlas of Disasters. Independent variables include climatic indicators such as precipitation (CHIRPS), consecutive dry days (CDD), SPEI, and ENSO (ONI), as well as socioeconomic indicators including GDP, population, and social vulnerability metrics from IBGE and IPEA. The dataset incorporates temporal lag effects by linking climatic conditions from current and preceding periods to the occurrence of emergency decrees. It is suitable for applications in climate risk analysis and the development of statistical and machine learning models for predicting drought-related impacts.
