Pyrogram pyGCMS Eucalyptus pellita
Description
This dataset contains the Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (Py-GCMS) analysis results of bark extracts from Eucalyptus pellita. The samples used are a mixture of the inner and outer bark layers. The dataset includes chromatogram profiles and identified chemical compounds, which are valuable for researching the chemical characterization, thermal degradation, and potential utilization of E. pellita bark biomass.

Steps to reproduce
Eucalyptus pellita bark was manually separated into inner and outer layers, air-dried, milled to a uniform 40–60 mesh powder, and moisture-corrected. The samples (3 g, 5 replicates) then underwent sequential Soxhlet extraction using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol, followed by rotary evaporation. Only the concentrated methanol extracts (inner, outer, and mixed fractions) were selected for Py-GC/MS analysis due to their high yield of polar phenolic compounds and tannins. Analysis was performed using a Shimadzu GC/MS-QP2020 NX system equipped with an EGA/PY-3030D multi-shot pyrolyser; 200–500 µg samples were pyrolyzed at 500°C for 0.1 min, separated on an SH-Rxi-5Sil MS column (50°C to 280°C), and identified by matching mass spectra against the NIST Library. Compound relative abundance (%) was determined semi-quantitatively via peak area integration. Finally, the identified pyrolysis products were classified into four biogenic categories: carbohydrate derivatives (structural polysaccharides and long-chain aliphatics), lignin derivatives (divided into H, G, and S units), tannin derivatives (primarily catechol, pyrogallol, and their methylated derivatives), and other extractive derivatives
