A harmonized, provenance-traceable dataset of 483 fiber-reinforced concrete materials for gap analysis and comparative materials selection.
Description
This dataset is a harmonized, provenance-traceable compilation of 483 unique fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) materials — 463 fiber-bearing mixes and 20 zero-fiber baseline controls — extracted from 63 peer-reviewed sources published between 2010 and 2026. Each material is a study-specific combination of fiber type, fiber form, matrix class, and dosage, described across 33 standardized fields covering identity, fiber geometry and dosage, matrix and mix design, mechanical performance (compressive, flexural, splitting-tensile, elastic modulus, toughness, fracture energy, tensile-strain capacity), and free-text durability, cost, and sustainability notes. Coverage spans seven fiber families (steel, glass, carbon, basalt, synthetic, natural, hybrid) and nine matrix classes (conventional concrete, mortar, HPC, UHPC, SCC, ECC/SHCC, geopolymer, lightweight concrete). A strict provenance rule was applied: a field is populated only where the cited source states the value and is never imputed, so blank cells faithfully indicate non-reporting. Every row carries a validated source DOI and a three-state provenance flag (primary-experimental, review-tabulated, or derived). Files included: frc_materials_master.csv — the full dataset (483 rows × 33 fields) with per-row provenance and quality-control flags. frc_data_dictionary.md — field-by-field specification, controlled vocabularies, unit conventions, and QC/deduplication rules. frc_coverage_summary.md — counts by fiber family and matrix, the family × matrix grid, and field-completeness percentages. frc_source_corpus.csv — the 63 source DOIs with title, year, source type, and materials contributed per source. The data support comparative materials selection, gap-driven experimental planning, meta-analysis and reporting-standard development, and training data for machine-learning models of FRC behavior.
