River and Ocean Water Quality in Bali, Indonesia

Description

Various water quality parameters in three rivers and ocean water around Bali, Indonesia. Parameters tested include salinity, pH, phosphates, and nitrates. Land use areas and percentage of total areas in a five km buffer zone around three rivers in Bali, Indonesia.

Steps to reproduce

Salinity: refractometer (in situ) pH: pH meter (in situ) Phosphates: Hach PhosVer 3 Ascorbic Acid Powder Pillows using spectrophotometer and adjusted with standard curve. Nitrates: observed through quartz cuvette at 220 nm using spectrophotometer and adjusted with standard curve. Raw land use data is from Indonesian Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) and analyzed using the open-source geospatial information system qGIS. A buffer zone of 5 km around each river was generated and analyzed for percentage of each land use - major land uses include residential, irrigated and seasonal rice fields, and farmland.
