Dataset of FARL (FHY3/FAR1) Family Genes in Zea mays for Genome-Wide Characterization and Expression Profiling

We have profiled the expression of fifteen ZmFARL (FHY3/FAR1) genes using RNA sequencing data, and we have identified and characterized them genome-wide. Based on sequence alignment and phylogeny, we classified 105 FARL proteins from five species of the plant into five groups. The ZmFARL genes' exon-intron and motif distribution were conserved based on their evolutionary group. The fifteen ZmFARL genes were distributed over seven of the ten Z. mays chromosomes, although no duplication was discovered.
