Indoor Plants Classification
Description
This dataset contains 1,920 images representing 10 indoor plant categories, with 192 images per class. The dataset was developed for machine learning and deep learning research on indoor plant image classification. It includes images of Aloe Vera, Aralia, Kamini Bonsai, Monstera, Money Plant, Purple Heart, Snake Plant, Spider Plant, Lucky Bamboo, and Calathea. The dataset is organized into training, validation, and testing subsets containing 1,340, 290, and 290 images, respectively. Data augmentation was applied only to the training subset, while validation and test images were kept unaugmented for evaluation. The images are suitable for computer vision research, including multi-class classification, transfer learning, feature extraction, hybrid deep learning architectures, and explainable AI. The dataset was used in the development of a hybrid plant classification system based on MobileNetV2 and EfficientNetB0.
