Description

Extreme rainfall causes significant soil erosion and slope failure in the Chinese Loess Plateau. Soybean urease-induced calcium carbonate precipitation (SICP) and vegetation-based slope protection are regarded as green and sustainable reinforcement techniques. We investigated the hydro-physical behavior of SICP-treated loess and its compatibility with vegetation. Based on these findings, we developed an eco-friendly SICP-vegetation composite system for loess stabilization.
