Description

This dataset informs of the gene models delineated in the Leishmania infantum (JPCM5) genome, which was de novo assembled by González-de-la Fuente et al (PMID: 29273719) in 2017. Since then, it has been incorporated into different databases: NCBI, ENA, UniProt, TriTrypDB, among others. The genome sequence may be downloaded from the Mendeley dataset: https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/rb34cg9xk7/1 Although the genome sequence remains the same, gene annotations have been improved by incorporating information derived from transcriptomics and proteomics studies and bibliographic sources in which particular genes/proteins were analyzed. The process following in updating the annotations has been described in the article by Camacho et al (2023. Leishmania infantum (JPCM5) Transcriptome, Gene Models and Resources for an Active Curation of Gene Annotations. Genes (Basel). 14, 866; PMID: 37107624). This dataset includes two files. On one hand, a Fasta file with the sequences of all gene models (coding and non-coding) that have been annotated to date in the L. infantum genome. On the other hand, a gtf file containing information to locate all genes on the L. infantum genome (available at https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/rb34cg9xk7/1).
