The adsorbent test was performed by adding 15 mg of each adsorbent to 5 ml of butylparaben (BP) solutions, then, the vials were placed in an orbital shaker at 150 rpm. Parameters such as pH (2.0 - 12.0), time (0 - 48h) and initial BP concentration (1.0 - 40.0 mg L-1) were evaluated. The concentration of butylparaben in solution before and after adsorption was analyzed by a UV-visible spectrophotometer (MAPADA, model UV-1600) at a wavelength of 255 nm.
